Ask Jane: Covering my pores
September 15, 2008
Katherine from Dusseldorf, asks:
‘Jane, I have very large pores, which I find very hard to cover with makeup. Is there anything I can do to make them look smaller?’
Katherine, I have very large pores on my nose also. Here is how I make them look smaller (even if I can’t make them disappear entirely).
- Try not to apply makeup with your fingers. The heat from your hands (not to mention the oil) will just encourage the pores to open. Always use a sponge or brush.
- Always use a primer on your face before applying foundation. The primer will sit in the pores, creating a more even canvas for you to work on.
- When applying foundation, press it into the skin. Try not to rub as this will just shift the carefully placed primer.
- Wait a few minutes after you have applied your foundation before you lightly dust with finishing powder.
