If you don’t want to spend money on expensive refreshing sprays during the summer, here is a fantastic home recipe.

1. Collect some fresh orange and lemon peels (2 oranges and 3 lemons) in an open bowl.

2. Pour half (or 3/4ths) liter of filtered water into a big bowl and boil it.

3. Pour the boiling water on the peels so that the peels are immersed in the water completely.

4. Leave the bowl undisturbed overnight.

5. Strain the water in the morning.

6. Mix the contents of 2 Vitamin E oil tablets as a preservative in the water.

7. Pour it in a spray bottle and the solution is ready to use.

The Clarisonic is a product that I am on the fence about so I am seeking feedback from any of you who have tried it.

Does it work? Do you like it? Do your pores appear smaller as a result?

Let me know in the comments because I am sorely tempted to buy this but don’t want to spend $150 on something that just doesn’t work.

I would like to know what high heels do to 12 year olds and what inch they should wear?

From what I can gather, girls under the age of 12 should not be wearing heels on a regular basis as it could cause them physical damage. For a girl of 12, wearing heels from time to time is fine.

There are alot of questions around whether it’s appropriate for young girls to wear heels. This is my opinion only (and I welcome your comments / opinions) but I think wedges and short heels (definitely no stylettos) look really cute.

I really like these wedges from ModCloth. I think they are perfect for young girls who want to start dressing a little older but want to stay appropriate at the same time.

I am so disappointed that we can’t get Shu Uemura via shop fronts anymore. What a totally underrated brand!

This is a really cheap thing to do but, if you’re using expensive products, you want to save as much as you can, right?

I know alot of people like applying toner / clarifying lotions with their hands but I hate the idea of my hands on my face.

To save on toner, I douse a cotton pad in the stuff and then split the pad in half so that I have two round (albeit thinner) pads. I then use both pads to pat the toner on my face 100 times (an old SKII tip designed to ensure you get the most out of their products).

I find that, by splitting the pad in two, there is no product sitting trapped in the cotton pad. And it still means my hands aren’t touching my face.

Is it the sublime packaging that is tempting me?

Can I apply Dinair foundation without the airbrush machine?

Absolutely you can, Cindy. Sometimes I just don’t feel like dragging out the machine, so I just pour a little of the Dinair foundation into a small container and then stipple on the makeup with a duo-fibre and/or stippling brush. The effect isn’t as good as my Dinair but it’s close.

I’m really tempted by the promises of this Protection Naturelle Loose Powder. Sure, the amino acids sounds compelling from a marketing perspective and I love the delivery system.

The only thing I can’t seem to find out much about is whether it contains bismuth. Because, if it does, that’s a deal breaker for me. Bismuth just makes me itch like I have cooties.

So if anyone is wiser about this, can you please let me know in the comments?
