Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat promises super quick super shine that will last for up to 10 days.  Did it deliver all it promises?  I trialled it to find out.

One of my biggest gripes with quick dry formulas is that they simply dry too quickly.  I like to get my finish just right but often find that the polish is either dry (and looks streaky) or it’s semi-dry and re-applying just creates a bunching effect.  Not so with this product.  I was able to go over the nail multiple times before it dried.  Still barely two minutes after applying, my nails weren’t just touch dry.  They were completely dry.  Awesome!

The shine offered in this formula is truly impressive.  So much so that, when I went to the beauty salon last week, the technician was convinced I was wearing gel nails – that’s how good the shine was.  So it definitely delivers on the shine promise.

But did it last 10 days, as promised?  No.  By Day 3, I noticed small chips and ‘crazy cracks’ appearing across my nails.  By day 5, I had to remove the polish as I was starting to look like a truck stop hooker.  Day 5 is well short of the 10 day promise, which was a little disappointing.

Nonetheless, I really like this polish.  The speed factor is super impressive.  It means my nails can get done in under 10 minutes and look fabulous.  And the shine has to be seen to be believed.  This product is up there with OPI in terms of creating a perfect finish.

But if you’re looking for long-lasting polish, this isn’t it.  But I guess you can’t always have everything!
