Beauty Stop Hot Pick – Lime Crime Foundation Primer
I am a huge fan of Xenia from Lime Crime (aka Doe Deere).
Not only is she a makeup maven who is utterly bold and fearless, she’s also just a really sweet and nice person. Did I mention she’s utterly gorgeous too?
So I was thrilled when Lime Crime started selling here in Australia. I’m too scared to try the eye pigments yet but I did trial Xenia’s foundation primer.
Packaging 5/5
Xenia spends alot of time getting the packaging just right for her products. And it shows. The foundation comes in the dinkiest little container, with the instantly recognisable Lime Crime logo.

I am very impressed that it comes in a tub form. Most of the time, primers come in these elongated tubes that you often have to resort to cutting if you want to get the product out. Not here. All the product is right there for you to take, meaning absolutely no wastage or messy cutting.
Quality 5/5

I should mention from the outset that this is a gel primer (as shown above). It looks and feels like partially liquified jelly. Which is kind of weird but you get used to it very quickly.
Whatever the consistency, there is no doubt, in my personal opinion, that this primer has to be one of the best on the market today. The product itself glides on beautifully and dries instantly. It softens facial flaws like pores, blackheads, blemishes beautifully. And my foundation loves it. I’ve never had my foundation go on as smoothly, creating a flawless finish, as I have with this primer.
But, and this is the thing that will make me buy this primer again and again and again. It’s so exciting that I need to tell you this in bold caps:
IT HAS ELIMINATED THE NEED FOR ME TO BLOT DURING THE DAY
Yep, my hideously oily skin usually requires blotting at least once a day. Not with this primer. By the time 5pm rolls around, my skin has a soft, dewy look on the cheeks. But that’s it. No oily t-zone. I nearly cried. After all these years of looking for a product that will keep the oilies at bay, I’ve finally found it.
Price 3/5
Here is my only gripe – the price.
I am guessing one tub will last me around three-four weeks, which makes the price a little steep.
This is a very minor problem though compared to the results this primer gives.
Would I buy again? 5/5
I don’t think I can resist this primer, even if the price is a litte steep. I would highly recommend those of you with oily skin to try this – you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Ok, I’ll admit it – My name is Jane and I’m a Lime Crime Foundation Primer addict.
