Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion is an absolute cult classic.  Since I’m fighting a terrible bout of adult acne, I thought I would give this lotion a try to see if it could tame my pimples.

Packaging

This comes in a tiny glass jar.  Now, I hate glass jars just because they break and create a huge mess.  So that’s a BIG negative for me.  Give me plastic, or at least a heavy glass, any day.

Quality of Product

So this is the weirdest product I’ve ever used.  The bottle itself has pink sediment (which is effectively calamine, like the stuff you used when you have chicken pox) in the bottom and a clear, yellow liquid that sits on top.  It looks like the product has separated (and there is the biggest temptation to shake the bottle to bring the two formulas together) but this is apparently the way the product is supposed to be.

You basically take a q-tip, dip it into the pink sediment at the bottle and then apply to the affected area.  Wear it overnight and then wash off in the morning.

This does sting when it goes on the skin.  Not badly and not for long, but you can definitely feel like a pricking sensation on the skin.

Ok, so far, it just sounds like a weirdo product that stings.  But, my goodness, does this stuff work!  I had a pimple that was resembling Krakatoa on my cheek.  I dabbed this on my face and, by morning, it was barely noticeable.  This works immediately and effectively to eliminate pimples.

Value for Money

Here’s the best part.  For what is effectively a miracle product, you don’t need to spend alot to get it.  It’s only $17 and I suspect it would last anywhere between 6 – 12 months, maybe even longer if you don’t use it on a daily basis.

This is a truly amazing product.  I love it and won’t be without it.  It works.  It really, really works.
