A good eye makeup remover is worth its weight in gold.  You want a remover that is strong enough to remove mascara, shadow and liner, but you don’t want one that is so strong that it does damage to the delicate eye area.  I recently trialled Rimmel’s Gentle Eye Makeup Remover to see if this product could provide that difficult to find balance.

I found this to be an ok remover, but not a great one.  I’ll explain why.

If you wear waterproof products, then this is not the product for you.  It will only remove some of the product, leaving you going to bed with residue on your eyes, and you’ll wake up looking like a crazy racoon lady.  And don’t even think about reapplying the product a second time.  My eyes stung like crazy for at least five minutes.

However, with non waterproof products, this is a great cleanser. It removes everything very easily first time around.

Pros: With waterproof products, works a treat.

Cons: Won’t work with waterproof products, stings if applied repeatedly.
