Kristen is actually a lovely, yet edgy choice for the yet un-named fragrance for Balenciaga.  The Twilight star joins French actress, Charlotte Gainsbourg, who will continue on as the face of Balenciaga Paris, their first fragrance, which was launched in 2010.

“The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”

I’m anxious to see the ad campaign in the Fall of the year.

The Love Fury bottle and pump  also go hand in hand as the  inspiration behind the bottle is that of a “killer” heel breaking through the glass. Chairman and CEO of Inter Perfums, Inc., Jean Madar, described the Nine West signature fragrance:

Love Fury is for the woman who loves the privileges of being a woman, from wearing high heeled pumps to using fragrance’s power to seduce. The Love Fury woman is sexy and passionate, but above all, once noticed, she is not easily forgotten.

 

The scent is that of fresh fruits, lush florals, warm woods and addictive amber. The fragrance will be available on Ninewest.com and Macy’s retail stores in the next month for $18-$55. The complimentary pump will be $89.

The ad for Truth or Dare shows topless twin Madonnas in a seemingly truth or dare situation. Madonna describes her new frangrance:

Wearing black shades, skinny jeans and stilettos, Theron, the face of the fragrance, arrives late backstage for a fashion show set at the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.

During the course of the ad, Theron changes into a gold gown while appearing to exchanges glances with Dietrich, Kelly and Monroe, footage of whom appears courtesy of CGI.

“It was incredibly glamorous and fantastic. I don’t think I’ll experience something like that again in my lifetime,” said Theron.

I think I’ll go watch this little piece of luscious film-making again…

Having said that, let’s discuss Tom Ford’s new muse, Lara Stone who is the face for his 2011 Beauty and Fragrance Collection and sweep Mr. Ford’s snide remarks under the rug, for the time being.

Tom Ford’s Violet Blonde Fragrance

Lara Stone is the face for Violet Blonde, which will not be available in stores until September.  I do, however, have a description of this new fragrance:

Violet Blonde includes notes of violet leaf, italian mandarin, baie rose, tuscan orris absolute, tuscan orris butter, jasmin sambac, sampaquita, benzoin, cedarwood, vetiver absolute, musk, suede.

Those are an awful lot of “notes” up in there, I must say.  I’d have to take a whiff of Violet Blonde in order to decide, but I have a feeling it will be too heavy for my liking.  Now, The Tom Ford Beauty line?  I’m there 100%, and you know it.  When we have more info on the new products in the coming weeks, I promise I’ll give you the updates.

Amy Sedaris for Downy!

I saw a huge stand-up display in the detergent aisle yesterday and thought, “…gosh! That looks like AMY SEDARIS!“. Yes, I actually yelled that in my own head because I was so excited.

Nope. I haven’t tried these yet, but I’m totally going to give them a toss in the washer THIS WEEK. Oh, Amy!!

Lollipop Splash – The Remix – $35- $65

Mariah Carey found sweet success with her last fragrance, Lollipop Bling, which was inspired by hubby Nick Cannon’s delicious wedding proposal. And now, the new mama is sating her sweet tooth again with another addition to her Elizabeth Arden fragrance franchise. Called Lollipop Splash the Remix, the trio of new scents shows off Carey’s fun-loving personality and features hand-picked ingredients that express the singer’s playful side.

I really just cannot get on-board with Mariah‘s childish ways  (“eternally 12 years old” — her words) with this campaign.  She’s a 41 year old wife and mother of twins.  The promo photograph is so gratingly annoying, what with the little clips in her hair, the Lolita-ish pose with a sucker on her lips.  The garishness of the colors and gummy-like butterflies make me cringe.

Who’s up for some Gummy Butterflies?

I’m feeling a bit carsick at the very idea of the gaggy-sweetness of Lollipop Splash:  The Remix.  I think it should be sold in the candy aisle at Walgreen’s, but I understand this trio of simple syrup and food coloring will be sold in major departments stores  (Macy’s) starting in July.

Seriously.  I just can’t.
