Tips for Eyebrow Waxing:

• Always make sure the professional is using face wax. It is made for sensitive skin and not as harsh as leg or other waxes.
• Speak-up if the wax is too hot. Extremely hot wax can burn your face or cause prolonged redness.
• If you break-out easily, notify the specialist and request a natural ointment that will prevent post-waxing blemishes.
• Wait at least two weeks between waxes or until hair is about 1/2 inch long. Effective waxes can last up to six weeks.
• Between waxes- avoid plucking stray hairs unless they are 1/2 long. This will ensure a cleaner, better shaped eyebrow result after your next wax.

I got threaded last week!

I finally took the plunge, made an appointment and had my eyebrows done.

And, let me just say – I’m now a threading devotee.

The actual process itself is QUICK. As in five minutes quick to have both eyebrows done. And done beautifully.

There was no redness afterwards or raw skin (which happens to me when I wax). I walked out with my complexion intact.

And the pain? Uh, no. Ok, it’s not painless but it’s nowhere near as painful as waxing. The best way I can describe the sensation is that it feels like scraping against the skin. And because it’s so quick, it’s totally tolerable.

Getting my eyebrows done set me back $15, which is $40 less than what I used to pay at a brow bar.

So yes, it’s cheap, effective and looks amazing. I’ve booked in next week to have my lip done, and my brows and we’ll see what else….

So naturally, I’ve been dying it since I was in high school, but that doesn’t make up for the sometimes precarious eyebrow situation I’ve got going on. For the past few years I’ve been dying my hair darker, so my eyebrows can look a bit…out of place. Most people have eyebrows that are either the same color or darker than their hair naturally, and having mine lighter can look weird, to say the least.
