TBS Thoughts: I’ve tried my fair share of primers, from drugstore versions to fancy brands, and Urban Decay has proven itself time after time.  It prevents creases all day/night long and also allows for easy application of eye-makeup. Many people don’t think about how a primer will affect the initial eyeshadow application and only how it will hold everything post- application, but having a smooth base to work on is definitely the first step. Urban Decay has figured it out! I will definitely be applying the potion for my  NYE makeup prep.

The Peacock – Paperself Paper Eyelashes – Sephora – $19

I have every intention of purchasing the Peacock Paperself Eyelashes for part of my Halloween costume.  Since I’m about 29 years too old to be a Club Kid anymore, Halloween is the only time I get to play dress-up.

Deer and Butterfly Lashes

What it is:  A set of faux lashes made from a paper-cut pattern.

What it does:  Like jewelry for the eyes, PAPERSELF eyelashes are designed with intricate patterns inspired by the art of Chinese paper-cutting. I’m sure there are lots of women, girls, gals, chicks, birds…whatever we like to be referred to–who can rock these on a daily basis, depending on their jobs and lifestyles.  All I know is that I’ll most certainly post photos for you to see right after Halloween.

It’s not too early to start planning your costume–in fact, you’re running LATE.

The eyelash expert warned me not to pull on the lashes because although they may “seem” like they want to come off, they will pull out your natural lashes. As a good pupil, I did not pull and applied Aquaphor to the base of my lashes to help remove my falsies. Patience is a must! They don’t just “fall” off which I guess  is good, because how embarrassing would that be? I applied Aquaphor on Friday  night and then again throughout the day on Saturday. By Saturday night all the individual false lashes came off.

Overall Review: Love! And I would get them again in the second. They looked natural and felt great. The compliments were pouring in too. Definitely a glam time!

The individual lashes took no more than 10 minutes for the lash expert to apply and the long lasting action all has to do with the adhesive. I’ve used regular lash adhesive in the past but the 5 day glue is extremely strong. As she was applying the lashes the scent from the adhesive made my eyes water and cleared my sinuses. Now that is strong! Check out my lashes below:

Aren’t they fab? I’m on day two now and so far so good.  The lash expert advised not to use any oil based products around or near my eyes as this is what causes the adhesive to come undone. The only tough part is showering because you can’t really rub your eyes. Other than that they feel oh so natural and the compliments are non-stop. Check back on Friday for Part 2 to see how my LashX lashes fared throughout the week and what happens when I take them off.
