For me, the one product I must have from this collection is the Mademoiselle lipstick. It’s already quickly acquiring legend status with beauty experts and, really, I think it’s an instant classic.

As we told you several weeks ago, Chanel is apparently trying to make lipstick happen again with Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lipcolor. Well, it has arrived!

The slightly spendy lipstick is designed to appeal to younger gloss fanatics by retaining more moisture than the average lipstick, opening up a whole new customer base to the traditional lipcolor of choice.

Will you try it? The color selection looks pretty decent for my skin tone (although those that prefer pinks and lighter shades may be out of luck), but for $30, I don’t know if I’m completely sold.

Around Valentine’s Day, most women want to find a little something special to wear. Some opt for a sparkly clutch, others for statement-y earrings or a bold necklace. If you want to make your date-night outfit really special, though, my advise is to find your perfect shade of red lipstick.

I never wear red or pink in my V-Day clothing because I don’t want to blend in with everyone else, but lip color is the perfect way to incorporate it. It’ll take an hour or so of dedication in your favorite makeup department, but it’s worth the time.

The only way to tell what will look right on you is to try stuff on – my perfect red, Chanel Rouge Allure in “Fatale”, looks a bit brown-purple in the tube, but it reads a true, dark red on my lips. Things that look like a true red in the tube look hot pink on me, and I would have never known any of this without investing some time.

So if you’re looking for a special addition to your V-Day (or any) outfit, give it a shot. Red lipstick is a lot cheaper than a new pair of shoes.

Leave it to Chanel to do something fairly sedate and totally French with makeup, even when Karl Lagerfeld’s couture collection was somewhat of a departure for the brand.

Most of the color came on the models’ lips – they each wore pink or red lipstick with orange undertones to contrast the simple cat-eye liner that adorned their lids. Eyeshadow was suitably neutral and spare. The simple beauty looks were probably designed as such in order to not compete with the hair, which was anything but sedate.

It was a bit Minnie Mouse-meets-Daphne Guinness, with a splash of Lady Gaga added for good measure. The grey streaks were something that we also saw on some of the models at Dior, and could it be that grey hair is suddenly…in? We’ll have to wait for a few more shows before we call it a trend.

That’s our first glimpse of the worldwide ad campaign for the new Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour, a new line of lipsticks meant to lure younger gloss customers away toward the more traditional lip formulation.

The line includes 30 colors in four color groupings, all with a super creamy, hydrating feel and a long-wearing finish that Chanel is hoping to appeal to customers who are used to applying gloss. The line will debut in department stores across the country, as well as on Chanel.com.

What to get the girl that has everything. Why, Chanel, of course!

Some people are impossible to buy for, and trying to find a perfume that a friend or relative might like is even harder. So why not get them a bunch of tiny perfumes? Seems like a good idea to me. Then they can just pick what they like.

But, just when you think you’re worn out by the ‘black is the new black’ trend, Chanel release a palette that makes black a whole new black.  Ok, that didn’t make any sense but, hello, it’s Chanel.

This palette comes with four colours that can be worn wet or dry.  Embrace your dark side, ladies.
