I’m not sure why it took me so long to try this stuff since it’s been around forever, but it did. And now that I have, I can see exactly why Clinique has enjoyed such longevity from its Dramatically Different Moisturizier.

Pros:
1. Lightweight. Even though my skin is pretty dry, I tend toward t-zone oiliness in the summer because I live in a very, very humid environment and I need a product that can deal with both. This product didn’t make me oilier than normal on my nose or forehead and it didn’t leave my cheeks dry or flaky. It was the best of both worlds in a very light product.
2. Accessible. I think every mall in the world has a Clinique counter. Even my on-campus bookstore at college had one. If you run out, you don’t have to order it online or search out a specialty shop (or even a Sephora).
3. Inexpensive. It’s not dirt cheap, but it beats the heck out of the $115 Dior moisturizer I use during the winter.
4. Brightening. After a week of use, my skin is noticeably brighter and more even. I could even tell the difference after a day.

Cons:
1. Speaking of that Dior moisturizer…I’ll probably still need it in winter. I can’t be sure, but I think this stuff will be too lightweight for my skin in truly cold weather. I could be wrong, though – that remains to be tested.
2. Pump. I’d prefer a squeeze tube.

Packaging:
I don’t generally like pumps because you have to take off the top at the end to shake out the final bit of the product, but for most of the lotion’s lifespan, a pump is fine.

As an adult struggling with acne, I no longer hold out hope for perfect skin. The damage done in the last few months has been terrible. Even if I manage to rid myself of the adult acne – and it’s slowly going – I’m going to have scarring left over.

So, these days, I’m all about evening out my complexion rather than trying to hide it. I don’t want to walk around with a mask on. But I don’t want all my flaws on show.

So I am intrigued by Clinique’s ‘Acne Solutions’ Liquid Makeup and will definitely give it a whirl in the next few weeks. Have any of you tried it and, if so, what did you think?

You know, I wasn’t always a blogger. When I first graduated from college, I worked in a marketing office 45 minutes from my apartment, and I had to be there at 8 a.m., every day. The thought of it still gives me residual anxiety.
