This is a very interesting and rather posh men’s magazine, and I’m eating it UP.  If you’ve noticed, I do write about my love of men’s clothing.  I worked in the industry for many years and have THREE men in my family who are also in the men’s clothing business.  I think I just may subscribe to this publication.

Just look at these gorgeous pieces by Cavalli, Alexander McQueen, Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.  Exquisite.  It’s not often we see David Beckham wearing actual clothing in editorial pieces in magazines.  I’m not complaining, but I love the oh, so British feel of  premiere fashion photographer, Alasdair McLellan’s images.

Lovely all the way around…dare I say, Fantastic?

Tom Ford – The Quintessential Gentleman

1. You should put on the best version of yourself when you go out in the world because that is a show of respect to the other people around you.

2. A gentleman today has to work. People who do not work are so boring and are usually bored. You have to be passionate, you have to be engaged and you have to be contributing to the world.

3. Manners are very important and actually knowing when things are appropriate. I always open doors for women, I carry their coat, I make sure that they’re walking on the inside of the street. Stand up when people arrive at and leave the dinner table.

4. Don’t be pretentious or racist or sexist or judge people by their background.

5. A man should never wear shorts in the city. Flip-flops and shorts in the city are never appropriate. Shorts should only be worn on the tennis court or on the beach.

Don’t you wish we all lived in Mr. Ford’s World?  I know he can be pretentious at times (he’s entitled), but deep down, I think he’s just a sweet, polite Texas boy who has impeccable taste and manners.

I do believe we ladies need to remind the men in our lives of these gentlemanly social graces.  I’m so fortunate that my husband fits the bill, but my sons could brush up on a few of these points.  (They don’t read this blog, so I’m not worried about a backlash.)  I seriously did the best I could teaching them decent etiquette, but I’d love for Tom to come to the house and whip them into shape for a refresher course.  They would listen to Tom Ford, of that I’m sure.  Lord knows, they don’t listen to me.

The thing with Johnny is that he actually could shave his head, and still be bloody gorgeous.  (Okay, maybe just pretty; not ruggedly handsome like Jason Statham’s head, but still.)

Then we have the impeccably groomed Tom Ford.  We would all be hard-pressed to find a more categorically flawlessly preened gentleman.

The question today is, how do you like your man?  My elegant husband is a silver fox, who sports a cropped cut and a perfectly groomed goatee.  I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Just look at these two action stars, totally rocking the HEAD.  Personally, I find this look extremely sexy masculine.  Women are attracted to a man who is secure (but not obsessed) with his self-image.  Dudes who think that they ARE their hair would be wise to really listen to how women feel about this subject.

Honestly, John.  No one expects…or even wants you to look like Danny Zuko or Tony Manero for the rest of your life.  Anytime you’re feeling insecure about that receding hairline–just Google Jason Statham, forpitySAKE.
