Drew seemed like a giddy school-girl when discussing her gorgeous engagement ring with Anderson:

“It’s beautiful. [Will] picked it out and he’s just got lovely taste, and it’s really fancy. I’m sort of like funky, eclectic girl so I feel like this is very fancy and I’m trying to like, you know, feel comfortable with it.”

I am hoping this was the result of doing her hair and makeup on the fly. I get that the look was supposed to be a controlled messy do, but at some point control fell off the wagon. Sorry Drew Barrymore, but you are a miss with this mess.

I don’t know if it’s the smudge lipstick or the ratted hair that troubles me the most. Perhaps it’s the uneven tones and use of bronzer on only the upper half of her face. I love Barrymore and think she is a sweet person, but I think it’s a good idea to have a serious talk with whoever let you step foot on a carpeted event like this.

As a lesson to us all, don’t be afraid to ask someone, “How do I look?” Or to prevent your lipstick running amok on your face try a lip stain or a smudge proof formula. When applying these try and let the first coat set in before applying any glosses or top coats.

I am not sure wat to think of this slow moving trend. Solange Knowles is trying so hard to emulate her big sister’s style and it’s coming of desperate.

As for Drew Barrymore, this appears to be the work of a third grader. Perhaps this look would be acceptable in a futuristic themed music video for Solange. The look isn’t exactly catching on regardless. People magazine hosted an online poll of asking readers if they’d ever attempt this version of war paint and an astounding 97% of poll takers vehemently stated this was a miss.

When I see this shade of pink, it makes me think of my mother. She always wore this color, even when wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

Aside from that little tidbit, I think the color makes you look like you are rockin’ Pepto Bismol lips.

If you have a warm skin tone and are going for a natural look, stick with warmer pinks. If you have a paler skin tone, for a natural look opt for blue based pinks and choose warmer shades for a more dramatic look.

As you can see, the CoverGirl Outlast Lipstains (right) look like markers. It’s also exactly how they feel. We are now curious about what would happen if we painted our lips with red Sharpie … but not curious enough to try it.

They are not the most moisturizing of lip colors, but that’s the price you pay for the feel of bare lips. We have no problem putting on the lip stain and a moisturizing gloss over it. The gloss wears off as usual, but the lipstain stays.

We really like the colors and the staying-power. The only catch? They dry out. Keep the caps on!
