The (alleged) transgression made by certain make-up artists is over-use of a product called, Makeup Forever’s HD High Definition Powder.

An 80s revival is happening and purple eye shadow is upon us. But it doesn’t have to be all scary if you follow these quick tips to keep the look fresh and modern.

Quick Tips:

• The most flattering purple is bluish lavender. Fuchsia is the least flattering.

• Always combine purples with other neutrals (golds, tans, taupes, browns) to avoid overkill.

• Avoid 80s candy colors like full on pink blush and lips or you risk looking like “Miss Piggy!” says Kaysser Bouiche of Thierry Mugler Beauty.

• Minimize under eye discoloration with concealer and use Visine to take any redness out of eyes, unless that “I Just Got Punched in the Face” look is what you’re going for.

How to Use

Smoky Eye – Choose deep purple or mauve shadows that suit your skin and work it into a smoky eye for a fresh take on this classic look.

Day – Peachy pink is a universally flattering blush and lip color and works well with our hue d’jour. Nude works too.

Celebrity Beauty Tips – Placenta Protein for Skin

We hear Eva Longoria uses an expensive facial cream that contains placenta protein to keep her face radiant.

However, Placenta cream is fairly controversial. Placenta extracts contain highly active enzymes, proteins, vitamins, anti-oxidants and amino acids important to skin regeneration.

These ingredients do promote healthier, younger, more elastic skin, but because it is ‘animal-derived,’ many question its safety.

Placenta Extract is also known as Placentol:

The use of Placentol in cosmetics and dermatological preparations is attributed to their bioactivity.

Placentol induce the blood circulation on the topically applied areas in the skin and scalp peripheral vessels, hence increasing the skin respiration rate.

As skin ages, the tissues oxygen uptake decreases yielding decrease in the cellular respiration and accordingly to skin degeneration and hence, wrinkles and turgor loss will take place. Due to high amino acid and enzymic contents, Placentol provides troubled skin with nutrients which might have been lost in cases of burns, irritations, abrasions and wounds and in the aging process. Such constituents facilitate the biological synthesis of the damaged skin rebuilding substances by providing oxygenous supply which be responsible for epidermal metabolism, the healing and nourishing processes .

Hence, Placentol have been mostly employed in cosmetic and some dermatological preparations designed for the poorly nourished, wrinkled and stressed skins, to provide turgor and cellular functionality.
