I found Kate’s look to be just lovely.  The pale lavender hue of the elegant and flowing gown, paired with a rather sexy shoe (by Royal standards, certainly) was just right.  Elegance is clearly Kate’s middle name.  As opposed to Jennifer Lopez, who looked completely out of place and so incredibly poorly dressed.

Where exactly did JLo think she was headed last night?  I actually feel embarrassed for Miss Lopez.  This get-up looks like something out of her days with Puffy in the late 90′s.  The only reason she was even invited was because Nigel Lythgoe (producer/creator of American Idol) was in charge of the event.

Honestly, Jennifer.  Get it together. (Never mind. It’s too late. You won’t have this opportunity again.)

Not only was the venue the site of McQueen’s first post-graduate show, but the handful of pieces on display, including his calf-hair horned jacket and a gilded feather jacket [above], reminded everyone why McQueen was such a national treasure. SamCam gave McQueen his due gravity introducing the event:

“We are so happy that one of America’s great institutions is supporting one of the U.K.’s most deeply talented designers, Alexander McQueen,” she said from the podium. Bolton, for his part, agreed wholeheartedly; McQueen, he said, was an “easy sell” for the theme, especially given the late designer’s tremendous body of work.”

Of course, we now know that Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen was the designer of the wedding dress of the century for Duchess Catherine (fka Kate Middleton)  over the weekend .

Jennifer Lopez – The Most Beautiful Woman in the WORLD?

And look what we have here!  People Magazine has crowned la López, 41,  The Most Beautiful Woman in the WORLD!  At least it’s not some little snip like Emma Watson.  Don’t get me wrong again!  I think Emma is a doll, especially with that little pixie haircut–but she’s a BABY.  JLo had an interesting quote in People about her love of going au naturale in terms of hair and make-up.

“Just being able to touch my face and rub my eyes and put my fingers in my hair and not having to worry about messing it up. It’s so much better.”

I’m not sure if I believe Jen, but whatever.  She really is gorgeous.  Congrats, girl!

JLo – Hit or Miss?

We all witnessed JLo sporting a Pucci head scarf during the American Idol tryouts earlier this season, and Nicole Richie has been rocking them for a good while now.  I think it takes a brave woman to pull this look off with confidence…giant sunglasses are a MUST.

These celebs’ major hair malfunctions will make you wonder what they did to piss off their stylists, if they even have one.

Christina Aguilera has sported a lot of questionable hairstyles over the years — from multicolored highlights to crazy cornrows — but her current bleached-blond bob loses major points for lack of originality since it’s pretty much a rip-off of Lady Gaga‘s signature style. And just like lace face masks and circle lenses, there are certain things only Gaga can get away with.

Technically, Britney Spears‘ worst hair moment of all time was when she decided that she didn’t need any and shaved her head. Sadly, things don’t seem to have improved much since her hair has grown back. The pop star constantly steps out with ratty extensions that make her look like she has the mange.

At first we thought that Mena Suvari was wearing some kind of strange hat, but after a closer look, we can confirm that the thing sitting on her head is indeed her hair. And the worst part: The updo is French braided up the back, prom-style. That’s two major hair offenses rolled into one horrifying look.

It’s hard to believe that there was a time when we totally coveted Mischa Barton‘s mane. Those sun-kissed highlights! Those glossy waves! If the O.C.’s Marissa Cooper, could see the star now, we’re certain that she would like, totally barf, over these fake-looking, Barbie-esque extensions.

When Kelly Osbourne first dyed her hair lavender we actually thought it looked kind of cool. But now that the color is more gray than purple (not to mention those lunch lady-inspired curls), the only place that this look would be considered trendy is on a box of Betty Crocker.

In all fairness, Katherine Heigl had to dye her gorgeous blonde hair dark brown for a movie role, so we won’t rag on her about the color. But what’s her excuse for this ’80s-news-anchor-meets-politician’s-wife bouffant? We can only imagine how many cans of hair spray had to die to achieve this helmet hairdo. As the mother of four children, it’s entirely possible that Heidi Klum didn’t have enough time to blow-dry her hair before running to this red carpet event. However, we have a very bad feeling that her wet-looking, slicked-back style was done intentionally.

Taylor Momsen‘s Rapunzel-goes-Goth extensions are so long and straggly, we actually miss that weird mullet cut she used to have (and that’s saying a lot). Oh, and no one was even remotely surprised when the wannabe rock star recently told mtv.com that she doesn’t brush her hair.

If you stood on Cassie‘s left side, you would assume that she had a lovely head of hair. And you would be half right. The singer shaved one side of her head, writing on Twitter “sometimes in life you need a change.” Yeah, that’s what a few face-framing layers or some pretty highlights are for.

At first we thought that My Bloody Valentine actress, Jaime King, was headed to a costume party, where she dressed up as some sort of alien with crazy hair. But she actually sported these finger-in-the-socket curls to an awards show. Yikes!

We’re usually fans of Rihanna‘s envelope-pushing style, but we just couldn’t get behind her cherry Kool-Aid colored, half-shaved bowl cut. (Just writing that made us woozy.) Luckily, her hair is starting to grow out and our fingers are crossed that her next look won’t be quite as aggressive as this one.

Maybe arriving at the London premiere of The Back-Up Plan with her hair styled in a way that can only be described as “fancy bird’s nest” was Jennifer Lopez‘s misguided attempt to distract people from the rom-com bomb.

I am trying to find the lip color that Jennifer Lopez wore in “The Wedding Planner” I can’t find it anywhere.

Tricia, I’ve had a look at the lipstick on the promo poster (shown here), and it looks like a very simple nude colour. To get this look, I’d try Siss from the new MAC Warm and Cozy Collection. To give the nude a bit of oomph, I’d top with Clinique’s Shy Beige Glosswear. This is my new, everyday nude gloss and it’s gorgeous.

Cut fake eyelashes to fit the eyelid.  If they are too long, cut them at the outercorner.  These hairs are the longest and stand out the most against natural eyelashes.  If false eyelashes are applied to the very outer corner, this will drag your eye down, making them appear droopy.  Never a good look!  Instead, when gluing them on, cheat them in just a tad.  This will give the eyes a lift and emphasize their almond shape!

Sunkissed Glow is a flowery, fruity and sensual scent with notes of orange blossom, waterlilies and passion flowers. You will also smell the scent of ember, musk and cashmerewood.

Sunkissed Glow will reach European stores in February 2009.

Stay away if you have a full face – it’ll exaggerate the roundness,” adds Murphy.

Reinventing herself this year, this busy mom’s new style looks amazing worn both curly or straight. “This cut is a refreshing departure from her older, longer hair that was dragging her face down. The shorter length is more uplifiting and draws attention to her delicate features. It’s perfect for oval, diamond and square shaped faces,” says NYC Salon Owner & Stylist Mark Garrison.

If you’re growing out bangs, look to this starlet’s clever new cut to see how it’s done gracefully. “The sexy waves are useful for growing out bangs because it adds flowing transition to the different layers of hair. Cut your bangs to an angle so they sweep easily to the side, and use a lightweight gel and side part to help them stay put,” advises NYC Salon Owner & Stylist Mark Garrison.

Change that little face Halle Berry, because we already saw your natural look and we do see the difference. The sexy actress, also considered one of the most desirable, knows how to take advantage of makeup.

When Beyonce looks good, she looks fabulous. When Beyonce looks bad,… let’s just say, based on the photo at right — her own family wouldn’t even be able to identify the body. The pale foundation is bad enough, but the blood red lipstick just amplifies the creepy.
