We’re hearing that Katy’s lashes will be available just in time for Valentine’s Day, through Ulta Beauty.  As with the rest of the Eylure collection, I expect they will be quite affordable.

Here we have the age old cleavage debate. While I, being a larger chested lady myself, think Katy Perry looks lovely despite her slightly show choir-esque meets Vegas dress. She attended the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards so fashion isn’t exactly the focus. It’s about fun and Katy is no stranger to good times.

The Hot N Cold singer walked the orange carpet it a sparkle dress that boasted a cleavage heavy neckline. Many are calling the look too ‘over the top’ for a kid friendly event. Katy brushed off the criticisms and rode in on an elephant to a birthday party following the event wearing a smile and a similar red ensemble that showed her curves once again.

The singer couldn’t resist updating her Twitter account with a picture of her new artwork.

The swirling design runs up her left palm and onto her forearm, twisting itself around her existing wrist tattoo that reads ‘Jesus’.

Posting the picture, Katy wrote: “I’m typing this with one hand… Isn’t it lovely? It’s Henna! (sic)”

Katy and comedian Russell have been vacationing in India to celebrate purchasing their first home together.

She rang in the New Year by posting a message to her friends in the US: “Just so you guys in LA that are about to experience 2010… It’s noon on Jan 1st here in the future, let me tell you 2010 is BUMPIN!”

I’m not the most enormous fan of Katy Perry‘s music, but I can’t find it within me to hate on her, either – singling out one pop star over another seems kind of pointless to me, and I can admit that I (secretly) have a few songs of hers on my iPod.

And she did sing live at the VMAs last night, something that the vast majority of performers certainly don’t undertake. Another thing she did last night was rock a fab makeup look – her eyes were easily my favorite of the evening. They were shadowed with thick, glittery silver and rimmed in a dramatic black cat eye liner look that I wish I had occasion to wear every day. Add in her enormous faux lashes, and I thought she was perfectly over-the-top for such an MTV event.

My only criticism would be her lipstick – if I had been her, I would have taken the look full-circle and done a matte, red lip color for the highest glamour quotient possible. Her somewhat more subdued pink looks nice on her, but there are so few events where you can get away with high drama and still look totally appropriate, and the VMAs are easily one of them.

Because of the super tight shooting schedule, there wasn’t a lot of time for makeup changes. I had to create different looks and there were many scenes to get through so I chose to focus on different lip colors. • Ms. Understood (above) “The parade scene is my favorite because Katy looked like a 1950s Vegas showgirl; complete with giant feathers, elephants and fire breathers all behind her – they closed down Fremont Street for the scene which was incredible!

  Katy was in such a great costume and I used Ms. Understood, my favorite shade in the Vivid Impact Lipcolor line which is so great on her, to play up the look.”

• Swipe the shimmery pink shade of LORAC Blush/Bronzer Duo on the apples of the cheeks and to the top of the cheek bones for highlighting

When I see this shade of pink, it makes me think of my mother. She always wore this color, even when wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

Aside from that little tidbit, I think the color makes you look like you are rockin’ Pepto Bismol lips.

How to select the right shade:

If you have a warm skin tone and are going for a natural look, stick with warmer pinks. If you have a paler skin tone, for a natural look opt for blue based pinks and choose warmer shades for a more dramatic look.

While doing an interview with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet she whipped out her itty bitty purse. Every girls a downsized beauty arsenal to fit inside smaller clutches, but Katy whipped out locks of Miley Cyrus’ hair. A stunned and, for once, speechless Seacrest had no idea what to do with this info.

If he were me, he would have back away slowly and said: “Pretty girl! Pretty girl!” Seriously…someone go check on Miley. She might be in Katy’s basement right now. I suggest, instead of locks of other people’s hair you have the Camilla’s Essential Fab 5.

• Breath Mints – Tic Tacs are great due to the small size. You can look like a beauty queen, but bad breath blows everything.




• Gloss – Your pucker is powerful. Keep it mesmerizing.




• Wet Nap – I know this one sounds weird, but it’s great for freshening up after working up a small sweat on the dance floor or touching up any makeup smears.




• Cell Phone – You never know when you will need it.




• A dryer sheet – Also sounds crazy. But this multi-tasking item will be a life saver. Got static issues…run it down the problem area and you are suddenly free. It’s the best at removing deodorant marks on your tops. It will also keep you and your purse smelling fresh.
