Nicky’s design portfolio might not be as thick as her sister, Paris Hilton, but she indeed can credit herself as a fashion designer.

At the age of 17, Nicky Hilton started designing handbags for Japanese label, Samantha Thavasa. In 2004, she launched her first clothing line called Chic by Nicky Hilton, and now she’s continuing to move to untouched realms: jewelry.

Chad C. Haggar, CEO of Titan Brands, partnered up with Nicky Hilton and they delivered a high-quality jewelry line with reasonable prices.

“I’m a crazy jewelry collector. I’ve always known since I was a teenager that I wanted to do a line. Whenever I bought something, whether at a flea market in Paris or a bazaar in India, I’ve been collecting pieces.”

Nicky’s jewelry line consists of three collections: Art Deco -inspired by her mother and grandmother’s David Webb pieces, and Spike and Snakes, ranging from classic Deco to contemporary edgy. The wholesale price ranges from $35 up to $480.

The collection will be available at Endless.com later this year.

Ah, this dress I can get behind and adore thanks to it’s generous and forgiving nature. The rouch has risen and replaced the now over done Herve Leger dresses that Hollywood was in love with. (Some still are showing their adoration, I think it might be time to move on.)

Oh….this is just a shame. Paris Hilton is doing her very best to sell perfume and look like Farrah Fawcett. Poor girl fails miserably.

Her attempt at volume, which is obviously key to the do, is pathetic. It reminds me a bit of the style I had back in 5th grade. You take hot rollers leave them in your hair for what seemed like hours, then tease your tresses into oblivion and use enough hairspray to fumigate the White House. While I have an appreciation for the softer look she is trying to achieve, it just does not fit her.

That is a key point to remember before you go trotting a picture of your favorite celebrity hairstyle to your stylists. That decked do may look great on Rihanna, but unless you have her structure… you won’t be looking like her. Make sure you are hunting for celebrity styles that are similar to your own features. Jaw line and face shape are the most important factors.

Take Paris Hilton who (for once) shows the least dramatic variation. Her eyebrow-skimmers are slightly bumped under for a wispy curl, then tousled for less pronounced ends.

Then there’s Iman with even bangs slightly shorter than Paris’. The curl causes this face-framing cut to bring out her beautiful features – doesn’t she look amazing at 53?!

Lastly, we have Christina Aguilera whose style can be recreated with one hot curler. Her bang shape is distinct and it looks like her roller was tossed away minutes before the flash went off!

Paris and Nicky Hilton must be confused when I say “less is more” and hear “put on more shimmer because you’d don’t look like a dime store sparkle knockoff Barbie yet.”

This is a prime example as what is wrong with teens and beauty issues. This amount of product is only acceptable if you are drag queen or standing on a street corner. I am trying to decide if a bronzer that has a shimmer finish is to blame or if they voluntarily look like they have been living in Elton John’s fanny pack.

Remember ladies that even when you are dressing up for a night on the town or hitting your favorite night time hotspot that there is a line to draw when it comes to your applications. Chances are…if you are old enough to get into a bar then you are too old to be wearing glitter.

For her birthday at the Pussycat Doll Lounge she has gone for a glittering goddess glow only to have missed the turnoff and overdosed on sparkles. The lesson here is that less is more.

Her accessories are speaking volumes with the gentle glimmer of diamonds, but are sadly overpowered by her eye shadow. To fix this miss she should highlight the brow bone with the shimmering shadow and leave the lid natural. If you feel the need to use a strong shimmer try an angled brush and gently sweep it just under your eyebrow in one stroke.

Resist the need to go back for second and third applications. The object is to draw attention to your eyes, not look like you applied your makeup with a paint brush. Moderation is the key to this style. Also a general rule of thumb to remember….unless you are royalty or it’s your wedding day leave the tiara at home.
