Rihanna workin’ it for Armani Jeans

Frankly I prefer Rihanna’s campaign far more than Megan Fox’s.  She bugs.  On the other hand, I will dearly miss Victoria Beckham in the underwear, lingerie, unmentionables (giggle) collection from back in 2009.

Goodness knows, VB certainly brought an elegance to the campaign, but she’s got her own fabulous clothing line now.

Frankly, I’m not sure if Rihanna will  necessarily bring elegance, but she will, no doubt be hot and gorgeous.  Can’t wait to see the new photos.

Not only was the venue the site of McQueen’s first post-graduate show, but the handful of pieces on display, including his calf-hair horned jacket and a gilded feather jacket [above], reminded everyone why McQueen was such a national treasure. SamCam gave McQueen his due gravity introducing the event:

“We are so happy that one of America’s great institutions is supporting one of the U.K.’s most deeply talented designers, Alexander McQueen,” she said from the podium. Bolton, for his part, agreed wholeheartedly; McQueen, he said, was an “easy sell” for the theme, especially given the late designer’s tremendous body of work.”

Of course, we now know that Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen was the designer of the wedding dress of the century for Duchess Catherine (fka Kate Middleton)  over the weekend .

One of my favorite red carpet looks at the Gala was Janelle Monae in Chanel.  It’s so true to her image and I love the black and white.   LOVE it.

The red color has a more orange undertone than we’ve seen on her in the past. Reminds us of Carrot Top! And although, Rihanna’s definitely not new to the pixie cut, this ‘do has an extra round, boy-ish looking shape. These celebs’ major hair malfunctions will make you wonder what they did to piss off their stylists, if they even have one.

Christina Aguilera has sported a lot of questionable hairstyles over the years — from multicolored highlights to crazy cornrows — but her current bleached-blond bob loses major points for lack of originality since it’s pretty much a rip-off of Lady Gaga‘s signature style. And just like lace face masks and circle lenses, there are certain things only Gaga can get away with.

Technically, Britney Spears‘ worst hair moment of all time was when she decided that she didn’t need any and shaved her head. Sadly, things don’t seem to have improved much since her hair has grown back. The pop star constantly steps out with ratty extensions that make her look like she has the mange.

At first we thought that Mena Suvari was wearing some kind of strange hat, but after a closer look, we can confirm that the thing sitting on her head is indeed her hair. And the worst part: The updo is French braided up the back, prom-style. That’s two major hair offenses rolled into one horrifying look.

It’s hard to believe that there was a time when we totally coveted Mischa Barton‘s mane. Those sun-kissed highlights! Those glossy waves! If the O.C.’s Marissa Cooper, could see the star now, we’re certain that she would like, totally barf, over these fake-looking, Barbie-esque extensions.

When Kelly Osbourne first dyed her hair lavender we actually thought it looked kind of cool. But now that the color is more gray than purple (not to mention those lunch lady-inspired curls), the only place that this look would be considered trendy is on a box of Betty Crocker.

In all fairness, Katherine Heigl had to dye her gorgeous blonde hair dark brown for a movie role, so we won’t rag on her about the color. But what’s her excuse for this ’80s-news-anchor-meets-politician’s-wife bouffant? We can only imagine how many cans of hair spray had to die to achieve this helmet hairdo. As the mother of four children, it’s entirely possible that Heidi Klum didn’t have enough time to blow-dry her hair before running to this red carpet event. However, we have a very bad feeling that her wet-looking, slicked-back style was done intentionally.

Taylor Momsen‘s Rapunzel-goes-Goth extensions are so long and straggly, we actually miss that weird mullet cut she used to have (and that’s saying a lot). Oh, and no one was even remotely surprised when the wannabe rock star recently told mtv.com that she doesn’t brush her hair.

If you stood on Cassie‘s left side, you would assume that she had a lovely head of hair. And you would be half right. The singer shaved one side of her head, writing on Twitter “sometimes in life you need a change.” Yeah, that’s what a few face-framing layers or some pretty highlights are for.

At first we thought that My Bloody Valentine actress, Jaime King, was headed to a costume party, where she dressed up as some sort of alien with crazy hair. But she actually sported these finger-in-the-socket curls to an awards show. Yikes!

We’re usually fans of Rihanna‘s envelope-pushing style, but we just couldn’t get behind her cherry Kool-Aid colored, half-shaved bowl cut. (Just writing that made us woozy.) Luckily, her hair is starting to grow out and our fingers are crossed that her next look won’t be quite as aggressive as this one.

Maybe arriving at the London premiere of The Back-Up Plan with her hair styled in a way that can only be described as “fancy bird’s nest” was Jennifer Lopez‘s misguided attempt to distract people from the rom-com bomb.

Who do you think sported the worse celebrity hair?

While I get that Rihanna is trying to harden her image and transition from a soft pop princess to a diva, I don’t get the 7 different kinds of fug going on here. The cut, the color, the beat up jacket that I am guessing came from a homeless man in exchange for a bottle of whiskey. I feel bad for her and this miss.

It’s hard to draw the line on the edgy angle, but I think this is clear hop, skip and a leap over that line. It is unflattering to her large forehead and just makes her resemble some sort of alien with a weave. One critic compared her look to “Larry King in an electrical storm.” Ouch.

Egads. I typically respect Rihanna’s choices in style. She is beyond unique and marches to the beat of a different drum, but this is a miss.

The lipstick ages her about 20 years. In the celebrity world it’s like dog years so multiply that by 7. It also reminds of the 90’s dark lip trend that I never came to appreciate. Call me stuck in 2001, but natural tones never go out of style.

The hair. I am not sure where to begin. The color? Perhaps the cut? Bah! It’s not good. She has traded her soft beautiful look for an edgy look. Nothing wrong with that, but I do recommend that while you are vamping yourself into a new style take things in stride. Her poor mane looks haggard an unhealthy.

Oh….this is just a shame. Paris Hilton is doing her very best to sell perfume and look like Farrah Fawcett. Poor girl fails miserably.

Her attempt at volume, which is obviously key to the do, is pathetic. It reminds me a bit of the style I had back in 5th grade. You take hot rollers leave them in your hair for what seemed like hours, then tease your tresses into oblivion and use enough hairspray to fumigate the White House. While I have an appreciation for the softer look she is trying to achieve, it just does not fit her.

That is a key point to remember before you go trotting a picture of your favorite celebrity hairstyle to your stylists. That decked do may look great on Rihanna, but unless you have her structure… you won’t be looking like her. Make sure you are hunting for celebrity styles that are similar to your own features. Jaw line and face shape are the most important factors.

Pushing the envelope at the Gucci fashion show in Milan is pop star Rihanna. From the knees up she is a vision of demure beauty mixed with edgy trends. The highlight in her hair is daring without being Rogue circa the X-Men.

The question of taste lies in her choice of footwear. Her boots are a questionable choice of fall boots. I am all for starting trends and bringing your taste with out with no questions and all the confidence in the world, but they just bother me. It looks like something that should have a matching biker leather jacket with strands of leather bouncing as you walk.

I say bravo for daring to be different, but adjust the look to appear less little girls streamers on a bike. Perhaps if the strands were layered or thinner…

This singing sensation is gorgeous from head to toe. Long hair, short hair and probably no hair…Rihanna has that glam factor. Her eyes have that come hither factor.

To score her look go for the smokey eye. Start by lining the inner rim of the eyelid. Then line the upper lash line on the top lid with a smudge-able liner. Perfection isn’t key here. You will cover this in shadow later. The goal is to blacken the entire lid and lash line. Use a sponge or brush to smudge the upper and lower lids. Follow with a charcoal or black tone and brush over the lined lid in an up and out motion toward the outer corner of your eye. Make sure to get it to the crease. Do the same in a lighter motion on the lower lids.

Finally darken brows and use two coats of a black mascara. I prefer my old stand by of Great Lash. That pink and green tube is my must have.

For added glitz use a blue, green or purple mascara as your second coat.
