Chloe Sevigny attended the 2008 ACE Awards in NYC on Monday looking nice. Her hair could be brushed, but for the typically over the top Chloe, this is decent.

She looks very natural and, for once, doesn’t look as though she is trying to hard to be edgy. Her look is actually a bit boring. Perhaps a belt would make this look complete. But I have to give her a hit on this one simply for the downplayed, natural and easy going look. It is refreshing to see her be herself instead of trying so hard to step above and beyond the fashion forward line.

While I am a proponent of pushing the evenlope and bending the style rules, remember as Coco Chanel once said:

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

I appreciate that her makeup is fresh without being caked on. Light and airy is always the key make it look effortless by using the never-break-rule, less is more.
