Mary J. Blige hit the 2009 American Music Awards red carpet looking delightfully understated yet glamorous. The Stronger singer attended the now controversial AMA’s looking fresh faced and a veteran amongst the masses of newcomers trying too hard.

Blige had made a small name for herself in the cosmetic world. She fast became a fan and supporter of the homemade beauty brand Carol’s Daughter. She along a few other celebs have backed the brand and she even developed a fragrance with company called My Life by Mary J. Blige.

I love that there is still some common sense and wisdom out there. With Adam Lambert creating another stir equal to that of Janet Jackson mishap at the Super Bowl, grace and elegance are always appreciated. This is one lady who doesn’t need to rely on huge and ridiculous antics to provide a superior show.
