DIY Beauty

I love these quickies that make me feel like some sort of beauty MacGyver. I am constantly trying to find last minute fixes or on the run applications. I haven’t yet mastered using just a paperclip and prayer to get myself ready in the office bathroom, but with these little tips…I am close.

*Throw on a base of clear polish and sprinkle over glitter over it before it dries. Add another coat of clear polish to seal the confetti and you have an easy party ready look.

*To eliminate build up, rinse your hair with one cup of apple cider vinegar, followed by a minimal use of shampoo

*Milk will help fight the eye swelling of, say, a hangover or a rough night of sleep. Soak 2 cotton balls in milk and squeeze excess liquid before putting them on your eyes for 3-5 minutes. Once they warm, repeat for another 3-5 minutes.

*A darker, high yeast content beer will do wonders for your hair. The acid will remove build up and the yeast and hops help to swell the hair shaft and plump the cuticle. Rinse your mane with something hoppy after your next shampoo. Let it saturate your hair and then give it a quick rinse for some body boosting.

*Chew on some fennel seeds to freshen your breath. The fennel stimulates saliva production which is necessary to rid your stanky mouth of pungent odors. Anise seeds or parsley will also do the trick!

*Having some under arm odors? Baking Soda to the rescue! Sprinkle your pits with some sodium bicarbonate to soak up sweat and keep odor at bay.
