I don’t buy into “thin is in” or “big is beautiful.” Beauty doesn’t have a number. Healthy is in. Healthy is beautiful.
Body size, weight and image are all a tricky and tender subject. Who you are, what you look like and what department you shop in is your business. For me, I am not a 2,4,6 or even an 8. Everyone is different and just because I am a 12 it doesn’t make me unhealthy or some sort of style outcast. Great style should not be limited by size.
In my weight loss adventure which started when I was outgrowing a size 20, I was always baffled by the limited offers of workout gear in larger sizes. When we decide to do something about our physical state, why aren’t we allowed a cute tank top to sweat in?
The Belted Marled Cowlneck Sweater Dress is comfort and style. Perfect for a day at the office or lunch with the girls, it is a steal on sale at Dress Barn for under $40. The GORGEOUS maxi dress comes with a bigger price tag, but the Yuliya Raquel creation will be fab this spring/summer! Snag it a Sonsi.com
Believe it or not, Talbots has some great jeans. I love a good pair of boot cut jeans. They have a range that caters to sizes 12-22 and fits a curvier gal. Once the skinny jean trend surfaced, I pinned for it to simply go away. The thought of squeezing my tree trunk sized thighs into a pair of tight denim was terrifying. However, I slipped into a pair cranked out by Asos and I have been rocking them with boots and heels every since! Lucky Mag also named them as one of the Top 5 plus size jeans.
The Ros Hommerson San Jose Pumps come in tan, black and candy apple red. Even better, they are available in extra wide sizes up to 13 via DSW. Torrid has a wide width wedge that inject some color into your look. The Lena Blue Suede Toe Wedge is offered in sizes 7-13 and under $40!
As for working out, Champion has answered the call with a range of clothes for the “plus sized” gal pumping iron.
