It’s what we all want, right? Beautiful, vibrant, pigment-rich lipstick that doesn’t dry the heck out of our lips.

YSL have mastered the art with their Rouge Volupte. These are super emollient but also super opaque. One swipe is more than enough!

If there’s a beauty brand out there that doesn’t think that packaging is important, I think that the Hourglass Prodigy Hydrating Lipgloss just proved them wrong.

I can’t tell you how long it’s been since I bought a new lipgloss. I’ve been on a bit of a strike since I cleaned out an old purse and found approximately 13 lipglosses that I had completely forgotten I had ever bought - some of them were quite expensive, and I vowed to use what I had for the foreseeable future.

But now…I can’t help myself. I’ve never seen a lipgloss shaped like this, and the odd packaging makes me want to try it out - will it go on easier than other lipglosses? Will it fit more easily into my small clutches? I have so many questions, and it’s easily worth the purchase price to answer them.

Bah, I just can’t get enough of Korres at the moment.

Right now, I’m obsessed with their Quercetin & Oak Age-reversing Primer.

This is a lovely primer that glides on easily and works beautifully as a foundation base. And it targets trouble spots (like little lines around my mouth) to perfection.

I’ll admit. I bought into the hype with the Revlon Color Ready Foundation. And when I tried it in the drugstore, it looked amazing. But do I still love it? Read on.

Packaging

The packaging on this is great. It comes with a pump (yay for pumps) which always appeals to me for no other reason than hygiene.

The pump spurts out a whole lot of product though. So be careful, lest you end up with foundation flying across the room. I find half a pump sufficient to work on small parts of the face.

Product

The foundation itself is light and very easy to work into the skin. And it has SPF which gives it bonus points in my book.

And, no jokes, I’ve never had a foundation that gives me such a flawless finish. When I finish applying it, it’s like I have perfect skin. And I most certainly don’t have perfect skin.

BUT, after a few hours, this separates and sits in patches on my skin. You can see where it has melted off and where it sits, tenuously hanging on for dear life. The beautiful flawless finish I had is gone and is replaced with something from a horror film.

In Australia, this cost me $30, which is mid-range, I guess, for foundation.

Unfortunately, whilst I love the look of this when first applied, it has no staying power with my oily skin. So I won’t be repurchasing. :-((((

It seems like they’re everywhere these days, and it’s about time you got on board: minibags are here to stay for a variety of reasons.

First, they’re functional. They leave your hands completely free for shopping, going to a sporting event, whatever you want to do. They won’t slip off your shoulder or weight down your arms.

Second, they’re diminutive enough that you don’t need to feel weird about wearing one in a bright color or loud pattern. A minibag won’t overwhelm your outfit, no matter what it’s made of or covered in.

Third, they’re far less expensive than the average It bag. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Percy Crossbody Bag, pictured here, costs less than $200. Because of their small size, minibags will usually save you a couple hundred bucks over a hobo or tote.

When cosmetic companies seem to pop up out of nowhere - and disappear equally quickly - it’s kinda nice to hear about a cosmetics company that took their time (a whole two years) to develop a quality product.

And that’s Sugarpill all over. The infamous Shrinkle, aka Amy, has finally launched her own line of eye-wateringly good pressed and loose eyeshadows.

From all accounts, these are amazing. Great quality, huge size and Amy is the queen of magnificent customer service. Within weeks of launch, Amy had run out but, now it’s all back in stock!
