After tonight’s performance on SNL by the self-described “Gangsta Nancy Sinatra” Lana Del Rey, all the cool chicks will be wearing LOTS of big, beautiful and colorful and real flowers in their hair. Since I’m on the west coast (and NBC hasn’t posted any videos yet, anyway) I haven’t seen what this talented new vision is wearing, but I can tell you one thing: Everyone WILL be looking this girl up on the internet and YouTube immediately.

It’s rather unorthodox for The Beauty Stop to discuss someone or something in this manner, but I feel Lana’s definitely worthy of a mention. Her beauty, style and fashion will be very influential for those who appreciate something new…or from the past. I’ve been collecting vintage dresses from the late 50′s and early 60′s since 2008 and I’m all OVER this beauty with a voice like a naughty angel.

If you haven’t listened to, or even heard of this girl, it’s okay–you will. Her debut album won’t even drop until January 31st, but she’s already booked on SNL? That says a LOT about some high expectations in the music industry. I predict her retro-rich girl-turned gangsta girl’s style will be everywhere.

Oh, Lana. Those pink roses in your hair.
