I am a loud and proud Football Mom! That woman who is screaming like a crazed maniac at the refs while decked out in buttons, t-shirts and hats…that’s me. I do the same thing for my daughter’s dance recitals, but in a toned down and socially acceptable way.
I didn’t discover my passion football until I got married to my husband and, conversely, the Chicago Bears. So, to show my support I learned what I could and discovered I like the rivalry, I like the competition and I love supporting my family’s passions. If you are a football fan, CoverGirl has you covered. (Apologies for the terrible pun.)
The label behind the ‘The Hunger Games’ makeup line (click HERE for more on that…), is also catering to the sports enthusiasts.
The CoverGirl website is offering custom nail art kits that compliment your favorite team. There is even a tutorial that shows you how to use the polishes to create your “fanicure.”
I recently rocked a football nail art for my son’s school. Our colors are black, gold and white and our mascot is an eagle.
To score this mani, I painted my entire nail white so the gold would pop. (I use this trick for most of my bright and light colors.)
Next, I used to thin strips of tape to create straight lines that would mimic the design on the team helmets. I filled in the center line with gold and painted the sides black. After it dried, I removed the tape so the white would show and topped it a layer of a thin clear coat.
I find that using thick top coats on dark colors can make them run a bit. After that layer dried, I added a thicker topcoat.
For the eagle nail art on my thumb, I employed the make your own nail art “sticker trick.” Click HERE for a complete tutorial…
Finish with a top coat and you have an awesome mani!
