I make no secret or apologies about my love affair with all things Tom Ford. I’m not embarrassed by how much I write or speak of the man. He’s an artistic genius in the world of luxurious fashion in terms of knowing exactly how an elegant man and woman should dress and present themselves. Classic, sensuous and precision FIT is key. Case in point: Daniel Craig as James Bond in ‘Skyfall’ which opened in the U.S. this weekend.
Daniel Craig in Tom Ford
Goodness knows the common man cannot even begin to afford a Tom Ford Tuxedo–which can run you a good $20,000 for a bespoke version, so how about a pair of sunglasses instead?
The Marko, a classic aviator style with a modern line and subtle detailing that echoes Craig’s evolution of the 007 role while staying true to its heritage, is available in four colors. On screen, Craig wears the silver frame with smoke blue lenses, the same color combination as the now highly collectible Tom Ford 108 sunglasses he wore in the previous Bond film ‘Quantum of Solace’, and a nod to the great Steve McQueen, who also favored blue lenses and inspired much of the current Bond’s rugged style.
Made in Italy, the frames are also available in gunmetal grey with grey gradient lenses, gunmetal grey with brown lenses, and shiny rose gold with green gradient lenses for $390 per pair.
