I may be a day late on the 2013 Golden Globe fashion frenzy thanks to a bought with the plague, but I am functional and ready to report on the style statements.
Now, the Golden Globes are a bit like that Winter Dance before the prom. Celebs are less reserved and more playful. That is why I adore the GG’s red carpet. It’s not so stuffy. Amy Poehler’s peek-a-boob capri pantsuit made me want to give her a slow clap. I loved the look.
Rachel Weisz showed up in an adorable black Louis Vuitton mini with a sheer polka-dot overlay. Lucy Liu wore an incredible Carolina Herrera gown that was impeccably fitted. The floral print isn’t up my alley, but it was still a “wow” moment.
Another look that most are raving about is Jennifer Lopez’s Zuhair Murad gown. Most are praising her bravery for showing up in a skin revealing frock. Was I the only one who thought it was just a more demure version of her Versace gown a la Grammys 2000? It was a bad wedding cake topper meets figure skater for me. I think it would have been more “stunning” for me if it wasn’t something she has already overdone. Compare it with her 2011 VMA’s outfit, her European press junket diamond and sheer mix and then her 2012 Oscars dress. We get it. You are a fan of sheer, nearly nude garb.
