Oh my goodness. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Kate Middleton (Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) in an elegant gown at a formal affair. As usual, she looks tremendous…and the Princes look fab, as well in their tuxedos while attending the British Military Awards ‘Night of Heroes’ in London.
The Duchess’s strapless black velvet gown was designed by her favorite designer, Sarah Burton for the House of Alexander McQueen, who also designed her exquisite wedding dress. When I first laid eyes on Kate in this photo, it brought back memories of Princess Diana’s black strapless dress which she wore soon after her engagement to Prince Charles. It was quite scandalous at the time!
Diana’s gown was designed by Elizabeth and David Emanuel, who designed Diana’s wedding dress, if you’ll recall. I still feel rather heartsick when I see photographs like this one of Diana. She was so terribly unprepared for the life that was facing her. But I digress.
Kate, however always appears so at ease and in control of herself and surroundings, all the while looking impeccable. Not to mention, Kate and Harry continually seem to be in cahoots with each other with some kind of inside joke at William’s expense. (That’s just my own personal assumption, and I’m sticking to it.)
Kate’s black velvet clutch is more than likely the one thing we can fit into our budget, yes? Nevertheless, I’m loving everything about the photos of William, Kate and Harry at this affair. I just wish I could be in on the private conversations, don’t you?
