Here’s a little story for you:

Back in the day, I had a go-to Halloween costume–a Robert Palmer Girl.  You know, one of those blank-faced live-action mannequins in the Addicted to Love video?  Fun, easy and a little bit tarty, right?  That is until I received one single comment which made me never want to put on that particular everyday outfit Halloween costume again.

“Julia!? I thought you were DRESSING UP for Halloween!”, a party-goer scolded. “I AM dressed up“, I hissed right back at the woman.  Very nice. I guess I ALWAYS look bored and wear too much lipstick.

My point?  Exhibit A:  Kristen Stewart at the premiere of her film, “On The Road” during the 2012 AFI Fest presented by Audi at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre a couple nights ago Hollywood.

KStew in Balenciaga and Red Lips

KStew‘s rocking a straight-from-the-runway Balenciaga black trousers/white bra-top ensemble, and pointy black Louboutins along with some serious burgundy/oxblood makeup.  Frankly, I’m digging her look.  I’m weary of the “accentuate your eyes OR your lips–never BOTH“-law.  I realize we don’t need to doll up just to run out to Ralph’s (yes, we do), but come ON.

I say Kristen Stewart is a big, fat HIT…especially with her raised brow and side-eye.
