Lady Gaga worked her first fashion runway today in Paris for her recent go-to designer, Thierry Mugler and his collaborator, Nicola Formichetti. (Formichetti is also Lady Gaga’s friend and stylist.) In addition to an entirely Gaga-esque collection, everyone was also treated to a mash-up of her new single, “Government Hooker” and “Born This Way”. The video of the fashion show was live-streamed from Mugler’s Facebook page.
Take a look, won’t you?
I marveled at the simple, yet dramatic and gothic columns and arches that loomed on and above the catwalk. The models lip-synched as they carefully stomped to the beat, but noticeably held onto the columns at times, so as not to take a tumble.
Gaga showed them how it’s done by flawlessly strutting her fabulosity in the haute couture and pigtails, while alternately smoking a cigarette and waving a long, chiffon scarf-veil in skyscraper-tall platform shoes. Though she was quoted as telling WWD she was “nervous and might throw up” prior to the show, but it would make “good press if she did“, it looked as though she was “Born” to work it OUT on the runway.
Clearly, Lady Gaga had NOTHING to worry about. Did you love the fashion show as much as I do?
