Let’s Discuss Men’s Fragrances…
How do you feel about your man’s fragrance? Do you fancy a scent, or do you want him to just smell like soap? I enjoy a fragrance on my men (my sons included), but I’m ultra-picky about the scent. It cannot be powdery or musky, or I’m in a perpetual state of feeling carsick, and no one wants that situation.
My husband, Stephen wears Bvlgari Aqva, and I love it. The combination of notes are bright and invigorating: Mandarin, Petit Grain, Santolina, Posidonia, Mineral Amber. Style: Fresh. Elegant. Masculine.

My eldest son, Alex wears John Varvatos Artisan. It’s suits him perfectly, with a modern citrus, leather and woodsy blend of notes. (The packaging with the wicker bottle is stunningly masculine and unusual.)

Lastly, my 21-year old son, Hunter wears Hanae Mori and has since he was 16. (Quite the sophisticate, eh?) Get a load of the combination of notes in this spectacular fragrance: Jasmine, lavender, vanilla and chocolate. Again, this fragrance is absolutely perfect for the man who wears it: “Unforgettable. Strong. Noble.”

Scent plays such an enormous part of our memories, and I love that I have these wonderful scents in my mind’s eye…or should I say mind’s nose?

ooooh i love men’s fragrances! I think it started when my Dad changed to Armani Eau Pour Homme after years of Dior’s Eau Sauvage. I loved both those fresh zesty smells. I bought myself L’Instant de Guerlain pour homme a couple of years ago because i loved wearing it. My husband has now stolen it and is now on his 2nd bottle – so i don’t get to wear it anymore. He also loves Habit Rouge de Guerlain which i’m not crazy about – very powdery. I’d LOVE for him to try Terre de Hermes which is my present favourite but he doesn’t like it:-(
