Myth Buster – Eating chocolate causes acne
Welcome to a new feature at The Beauty Stop – Myth Buster.
Let’s kick things off with one of the biggest beauty myths: Chocolate causes acne.

It’s believed that this myth began when a connection was made between the high fat content of chocolate and a fatty oil called sebum. Sebum blocks skin ducts and cause acne. Since many believed chocolated contained sebum, it naturally translated that chocolate causes acne.
This is simply not true. There is no sebum in chocolate.
So does that mean that chocolate is off the taboo list? Not quite. Because of its high fat content, you should always eat chocolate in moderation. Well, nearly always. It’s Cadbury Creme Egg season and I have to admit, I’m eating one a day!
But rest assured – chocolate will not cause acne.
