Should you throw out and subsequently replace your makeup every three months?

The beauty companies will say you should but don’t believe them (they have a vested interest in you buying their product). Although there are some general rules, which we’ve previously written about here, treat your makeup on a case by case basis. If something starts to smell funky, or changes consistency, it’s time to replace.

Otherwise, so long as you are hygienic with your products (wash your brushes regularly, don’t share products with girlfriends etc), they can last forever!
