Myth Buster – Wearing hair up can cause baldness
July 1, 2009

Ok, wearing your hair up doesn’t mean you’re going to look like Kojak any time soon.
But if you’re one of those people who scrapes their hair back into tight buns, ponytails or braids, you can damage the root of your hair if you wear these styles day-in day-out for an extended period. Once in a while is ok, but extended wear may cause traction alopecia.
If you do like to pull your hair away from your face, opt for a looser style that doesn’t place pressure on your hair root.
