Product Review: Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brow Pencil
You see, I have this problem. My natural hair color is terrible. It’s brown, which is usually unoffensive, but mine is a sort of greyish brown with no good red or blond undertones at all. It’s dishwater brown. It’s icky.
So naturally, I’ve been dying it since I was in high school, but that doesn’t make up for the sometimes precarious eyebrow situation I’ve got going on. For the past few years I’ve been dying my hair darker, so my eyebrows can look a bit…out of place. Most people have eyebrows that are either the same color or darker than their hair naturally, and having mine lighter can look weird, to say the least.
I’m not really willing to dye them and I hate the look of a drawn-on eyebrow, so the Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brow Pencil has been a lifesaver for me because of its special formulation.
Instead of just being a repackaged version of brown eyeliner (let’s face it, that’s what most brow pencils are), this particular product is different because it’s specially formulated to only deposit color when it’s interacting with the oils in hair. It’ll leave color on your brows but not on the skin underneath, avoiding the solid, drawn-on look that we’re all trying to avoid.
Give it a shot – you’d be surprised at how a well-defined, appropriately colored brow will change your face for the better and give your look definition.
