Product Review: Urban Decay’s De-Slick

Recently, I picked up a bottle of Urban Decay’s De-Slick and took it for a test drive:

De-Slick Spray – $29

What it’s supposed to do: A high-tech, hypoallergenic formula keeps skin looking beautifully matte all day, without clogging pores or causing breakouts. The weightless mist absorbs excess sebum and controls surface shine, leaving your makeup looking fresh and newly applied. Your makeup won’t melt when it’s hot or become dehydrated and cracked when it’s cold and windy because Urban Decay’s patent-pending Temperature Control Technology, which lowers the temperature of your makeup to hold foundation, eye shadow, blush, and concealer in place.

TBS Thoughts: I have combination skin: oily t-zone and pretty dry everywhere else and definitely get the mid-day shine. I tried de-slick as instructed on the box and was not impressed. It kept the shine at bay for a few more hours than normal, but instantly give me an extra dewy glow. Too dewy to be exact. It intensified my basic, natural makeup and made it look like I had pounds of makeup on + after a week my skin started to become very dry. I had such high hopes for De-Slick but unfortunately it is going to be returned. I will continue to use Sephora ‘Tricks of the Trade‘ to battle the mid-day shine!
