Tip Stop – Dealing with hair loss
August 29, 2009

Losing hair can be a stressful experience, especially if you’re a female.
I have periodically shed hair since 2002. Each year, for at least three months, I will shed hair like crazy. It slows down eventually and I start growing hair again. But it never stops being stressful and worrying.
If you’re like me and go through periodic shedding, there are some things you can do to managing your hair through the shedding period:
- Make sure you get regular hair cuts and trims. Healthy hair is hair that wants to stay put.
- Give your hair a deep condition every week.
- Dink lots of water – at least two litres per day
- Make sure you eat a balanced diet with plenty of proteins and vegetables (hair loss is often a sign that your body isn’t getting enough protein).
- even if you do eat a balanced diet, take added supplements such as zinc, biotin and calcium, all of which contribute to better hair health.
