Sunscreen should always be part of your daily routine, rain or shine! With summer just around the corner, suncreen is even more crucial in protecting your skin. However, with so many different kinds out there, how is one to pick the correct one? Follow these tips to select the perfect sunscreen for your skin type!
Golden Rule: Always choose a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15.
Dry: Pick a sunscreen containing glycerin or hyaluronic acid. These ingredients are humectants, which attract water. This sunscreen should also contain dimethicone, which helps retain mositure.
Oily: A gel or spray-on sunscreen labeled as noncomedogenic. The slight alcohol content of these formulas helps absorb oil on the skin’s surface.
Sensitive: A sunblock that lists only titanium dioxide or zinc as active ingredients. Compared to sunscreen, which penetrates and can irritate the skin, sunblock is made with ingredients that sit on top of skin and prevent rays from entering.
Normal: Pick a simple daily lotion with sunscreen. It is light on oily zones, moisturizes enough for dry areas and protects well from intermittent sun exposure.
