Tip Stop – How to Use Highlighter
Natural makeup with the touch of highlighter ruled this seasons’ catwalk. Designers such as Stella McCartney and Prada chose this minimalist look. Highlighter defines your features and instantly brings radiance to the face without looking like you are wearing makeup. Perfect for everyday!
Cream highlighters are good for normal to dry skin while powder is more effective for combination and oily skin. I personally recommend Bobbi Brown’s Pink Shimmer Brick Compact ($38) and Benefit’s High Beam ($24). After all of your makeup is done, apply highlighter to areas that you want to bring forward. Such areas include the cheekbones, along the bridge of your nose, chin, the eyes’ inner corners, browbones and the lips’ bow. Use either your finger, brush or sponge, whichever is the easiest for you. Be sure to not leave any harsh edges. Remember to start off with only a little product and build as go. The highlighter should look natural, not oily or shiny.
