Tip Stop: Lash Envy

Getting ready for the uber-glamour of the party season? Here’s a foolproof guide, courtesy of Shu Uemura UK, to applying falsies:
* First, adjust the length of the false lash so it is your size: cut small sections from both ends until it matches the width of your eye.
* Apply the eyelashes only once your eye make-up is done.
* Curl your own lashes before you apply them so so that your lashes align with the slight curl of the false lashes.
* To make it easier to apply the glue, use a tool such as tweezers — or an eyelash applicator.
* Put some glue on your hand, pick it up with the tweezers or applicator and apply a thin layer to the back of the eyelash strip. Add a little more glue to the outer corner of the strip. n Position the false lashes in the centre of your lash line; wait five seconds, then apply pressure at the inner corner of the eye; finish with the outer corner.
* Before the glue dries, tap the lashes with your fingers so they look smoother.
* If the lash is out of place, use your fingers to move it before the glue dries. Don’t worry about glue marks until the lashes have set completely — you can peel bits off more easily then.
* Remove the lashes before washing your face — glue is not good with water.
