A smooth mascara application can be tricky, especially when you have 5 minutes to apply your entire makeup for the day. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- Don’t over do it! If you load the brush with too much product, it builds up on the lashes and causes clumping. To avoid mascara overload, wrap a tissue around the brush and gently squeeze off any excess.
- Pumping is a no no. You’ve probably heard it many times, but pumping allows extra air into the tube which dries out the mascara and can result in clumping. Try swirling the wand in the tube to grab product and then pull it out.
- Time for new mascara. Clumping is also a sign that your mascara may be old. Mascara more than 4 months old needs to be tossed.
