We can take our cue from the ladies that walk the runway. The designers put together collections and formulate a cohesive look. Many trends got their start on the catwalk or found steam at Fashion Week.
For Spring 2013, repeat looks turned heads. Some of them weren’t anything new, but a revival is always haute. Try one of Fab 4 designer favorites…
Head Scarves – Wrap a gauzy fabric around a purposely messy updo for a boho vibe that can cover a bad hair day with hipster flair. This was hot with Dolce and Gabbana, Max Mara and Marc Jacobs.
Bright Blue Lids – MAC is my go-to solution for anything bold and bright. From the minimal to the lid-to-brow, blue will be big. Try sweeping a cream liner over most of your lash line – starting it before the inner corner and giving it a blunt end just before your outer corner. The ladies of the runway skipped mascara and opened the eye with a pearly white highlight to the inner corner of eyes. This was hot with Michael Kors, Monique Lhuillier and Just Cavalli.
Opaque White – Long claws are out and acrylics are best left to the days ‘Clueless’ and your high school prom. Go nearly neutral with a clean white sheen. The shade compliments the shorter natural look. Round off edges to calm down the boldness. This was big on the Rag & Bone runway.
Electric Lips – From the hot pink lips we reviewed yesterday to the tangy tangerine mentioned weeks ago, lips are going to be bold an bright. Just remember that you should always pick one feature to go big with. If your eyes are rocking brilliant blue, then play down your lips with a matte neutral. Prada, Rochas and Ruffian liked these lips for their collections.
