What’s your signature scent?

jo-malone-blue-agava-and-cacaoI’ve talked briefly about this before, but I have an intense love-hate relationship with perfume. A scent has to really get under my skin in order for me to regularly put it on top of it, and it’s incredibly rare that I find one I like.

Since I’m a bit of a product junkie, it’s also hard for me to find any beauty item that I’ll use until the container is empty. When you put those two things together, you end up with a lot of barely used perfume bottles sitting on my vanity, waiting for the love that they’ll never receive. Even worse is my desire to not wear perfume that is too popular among my friends.

That particular predilection rules out a lot of good scents – I can’t wear Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, no matter how nice it smells. I want to smell like me, not everyone I know.

And for the last few years, the only thing that has held my attention through an entire bottle of perfume is Jo Malone Blue Agava & Cacao. In fact, I’m almost done with my second bottle and will definitely purchase a third, despite the hefty $100 price tag. To me, it smells like me. And that’s the most important thing. What do you wear to stand out from the pack?

Jo Malone, $100.
